Dr. Assadour Markarov is an artist, educator, and curator. He serves as the Head of the Department of Tapestry and Associate Professor at the National Academy of Arts, Sofia, Bulgaria. He is currently a Visiting Professor in the Fiber Art Department of the School of Public Art and Sculpture, China Academy of Art, as well as at the Manber Tapestry Art Research Institute. He has lectured in many countries.
He earned a bachelor's degree in calligraphy in China. His artistic practice spans painting, printmaking, paper art, calligraphy, sculpture, and spatial installation. His works have been exhibited in Switzerland, Egypt, Poland, the Netherlands, China, and numerous important exhibitions in Bulgaria and internationally.
