ZHONG GONG WATER CONTROL
A thematic cast-bronze sculpture ensemble framed by modern stainless steel, reinterpreting the historic water conservancy achievements of Song Dynasty magistrate Zhong Geng.
ZHONG GONG WATER CONTROL
Created by Professor Chen Tao from the China Academy of Art, "Zhong Gong Water Control" is a pivotal cultural node on Yinxian Avenue that utilizes a "Dialogue between Past and Present" artistic technique. This ensemble features three narrative units: laborers hoisting heavy stones, the dignified figure of Magistrate Zhong holding water conservancy documents, and focused craftsmen at work. These realistic cast-bronze figures are encased within minimalist stainless steel square frames, acting as "temporal windows" that invite passersby to witness fragments of Ningbo’s arduous history. The contrast between the ancient texture of bronze and the industrial sleekness of steel symbolizes the continuity of the city’s resilient spirit. This installation transforms a roadside landscape into an open-air gallery, allowing citizens to touch the historical pulse of the city during their daily commute.
